ABOUT ME

Hello there! My name is Susan Huynh. I was born and raised in Southern California. My parents immigrated to the United States and built their life as newcomers in a land that they believed had many opportunities. Their spirit, sacrifice, hardwork, and perseverance are what pushed me to achieve success. As a first generation college student, the college application process was nerve-wracking. However, I had the privilege to choose an institution to attend. The best decision of my life was to attend California State University,  Fullerton.

For me, the impact of the mentors and opportunities at Cal State Fullerton brings my story to life. It took amazing faculty and staff to encourage me to be bold without boundaries. It takes an amazing university with programs like Freshman Programs, New Student Programs, and University Outreach to give students like me opportunities to explore my career path and to do meaningful work across campus. These opportunities helped shaped who I am as a person. One particular experience was NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program (NUFP), which helped me realize that student affairs was the field that I wanted to pursue.

In May 2013, I graduated from California State University, Fullerton with honors and received my bachelor of arts in Psychology with a minor in Human Communication Studies.

With the support of my family, friends, and mentors, I decided to pursue my Master of Education in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs (PASA) at the Rossier School of Education. My anticipated graduation date is May 2015.
