EDHP 508: Creating Communities of Interest

Learning Outcome: Creating Communities of Interest is designed to help students develop a learning conceptual framework for their educational experience in their Master’s program at the Rossier School of Education.

EDHP 552: Politics of Difference

Faculty: Dr. Shafiqa Ahmadi

Learning Outcome: This course explores the changing nature of student experiences on college campus, and focuses on two related domains: the diversity of human experience and the increasing globalization of educational environments. 

EDUC 689: Finance in Higher Education

Faculty: Dr. Kristan Venegas

Learning Outcome: This course is designed to introduce educational leaders to the finance of higher education. The main objective is to provide an understanding of the key concepts and issues related to the federal, state and individual roles in the financing of higher education. 

EDUC 500: Foundations of Higher Education

Learning Outcome: This course provides an introduction to the roles and functions of higher education from historical and contemporary perspectives.

EDHP 657: Management of Student Services

Learning Outcome: This course concentrates on the role of the administrator in American higher education institutions. Today’s successful higher education administrators are distinguished by their capacity to adapt to and master the changing demands of a job and an organization.

 

EDHP 551: Applied Educational Ethnography

Learning Outcome: This course will focus on qualitative approaches of inquiry for the social sciences. In particular, we will focus on dilemmas and issues that pertain predominantly to higher education.

Learning Outcome: This course covers principles, services, and organizational patterns of student affairs programs and services for two-year, four-year and professional higher education institutions.

Learning Outcome: This course explores the legal issues related to the administration of higher education. Constitutional, statutory, case law, and regulatory law that govern higher education are explored.

Learning Outcome: This course explores theories of college student development and application of developmental models for program design, interventions, outreach, and research programs.

Learning Outcome: The goal of this course is for students to learn how to use the methods and findings of educational research to address their professional needs, interests, and problems. 

EDUC 616: Higher Education Seminar

Learning Outcome: This course is designed to help encapsulate the experiences of the master’s degree for students in the Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs (PASA) program. The seminar serves as a resource to allow candidates to reflect upon the entirety of the masters program.
